Fictional Animal Stories

The students in first grade have been working on a Fictional Narrative Unit. We have been reading many fictional animal stories by different authors. One series we read was Bill and Pete by Tomie dePaola. The students used to storyjumper.com to create their own Bill and Pete story. The students used the ideas and patterns in Tomie dePaola's books to create their own version where Bill and Pete visit New York. Mrs. Snider copied the pictures from storyjumper and the students took turns reading the story in order to make it come to life.
Class 1-107 learned how story patterns can help them to understand stories better.  They read many animal fiction stories and then created their own stories.  It was a lot of fun!

Class 1-111 used comic life to create their own animal fiction stories.
