Service in Schools

UNICEF Kid Power is a program of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. UNICEF Kid Power gives kids the power to save lives. By getting active with the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids go on missions to learn about new cultures and earn points. Points unlock funding from partners, parents and fans, and funds are used by UNICEF to deliver lifesaving packets of therapeutic food to severely malnourished children around the world. The more kids move, the more points they earn, the more lives they save.

The UNICEF Kid Power School Program promotes fitness and global citizenship among elementary school-age kids. The program consists of a teacher-led classroom experience that leverages easy-to-use technology and standards-based curriculum. The technology includes UNICEF Kid Power bands for students and classroom tablets for syncing and tracking progress, and the curriculum includes lessons, quizzes and games on malnutrition and global citizenship for keeping students inspired and engaged.

Children at PS62Q have been learning about the power we have to save lives and help kids around the world- children who need food, clean water or medicine, or who have been caught in natural disasters. UNICEF works to give these children healthier lives and brighter futures. We collected $1580.26 by Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF to buy lifesaving supplies for children in need.

At PS62, we love to recycle, reduce and reuse to save our planet!
