Visual Arts

The Art program at P.S. 62 adheres to the New York City Blueprint for Visual Arts.  The program begins with the making of art.  Through the exploration of different media (drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and technology), students learn to express themselves, perfect their art skills and cultivate their imagination.

Opportunities are provided for students to:

  • become literate in art,
  • make social, cultural and historical connections,
  • engage in learning beyond the classroom,
  • share in the rich diversity of their communities, and
  • become lifelong learners and advocates for art.
